Brief Description
Based on the beloved novel by Joseph Girzone, Joshua is the story of what might happen if Jesus, going by the name Joshua, were to show up in a small town in Middle America. It is a modern parable about how compassion and charity can transform ...
When Joshua moves to the outskirts of Auburn, he awakens the curiosity of the sleepy town. The locals aren't quite sure what to make of him. They don't know who is, or where he came from, but no one can shake the feeling that they've known him for years.
"Sometimes you have to tear something down in order to build it back up again," he explains to the amazed townspeople as he attempts to single-handedly rebuild a burned down Baptist Church. It is with this simple logic combined with his enigmatic presence that Joshua convinces them to join him. But what actually ends up getting rebuilt is each of their lives, their hearts, their trust in themselves and the each other. Finally, these co-existing strangers come together as a community.
Known only by his first name, his wisdom and compassion places him at the center of the town's attention. This attention intensifies as Joshua shatters prejudice and misconception on his path, and even seems to perform miracles.
Despite his benevolence and selfless work in the community, some remain suspicious. There are those who fear that no one in today's world would do something for nothing. Just what exactly is Joshua up to? In the end, it is the answer to that question which is nearly as extraordinary as the discovery of that same transforming power in each of their own hearts.
JOSHUA is a modern parable about how compassion and charity can transform our troubled world.

Pamela NipperWonderful, for my teenagers it was exciting and encouraged "real life walking like Jesus." A beautiful example of the real man Jesus was and is... and how unaffected He was by public opinion in Biblical days an encouragement for all believers

BonnieEXCELLENT! Watched Joshua with our 3 young children 2 weeks ago. They all have initiated conversations everyday since then. They've watched it repeatedly and have invited their Grandma (who also loved this movie) and friends to watch again with them. IT WAS INSPIRING TO HEAR THEM TALK OF LOOKING FOR THE LIVING JESUS IN ALL. Please make & distribute more movies like this.

Praise the Lord

HosepI made an overseas trip to a theological college and we watched this film. I had goosebumps all over me seeing the miracles of Jesus Christ. I would recommend this film to people who do not have the faith in Jesus, because while watching you will be filled with the faith of the Lord. God Bless!

An Inspiring Film
Posted By:
TanaMaryI must admit, F. Murray Abraham's appearance is what compelled me to rent the film. But, I haven't been able to put it out of my mind since watching it. I've already ordered the Joshua book, the sequel and the film. I generally find religious films to be mostly propaganda, but Joshua is simply kind and compassionate. He makes no overture to preach and gestures no one to worship. He simply shows the way and they follow. I think Tony Goldwyn portrayed the character beautifully with a quiet spirituality that captured my attention. F. Murray Abraham was wonderfully tenacious and lovingly humbled. I've already recommended the film to several friends and will continue to do so.
