Over the course of Christian history there have been times of revival when the Holy Spirit is powerfully manifested among the people of God. One of the most far-reaching revivals ever took place in 1904 in Wales. In this program you will see how the revival broke out and how it changed lives and impacted the entire society.

Through use of contemporary letters, interviews and photographs, this program examines the 1904 Welsh Revival through the eyes and thoughts of the Revivalist himself, 26-year-old Evan Roberts. From his conversion at 13 to the outbreak of Revival in November, 1904, the story traces the steps in his spiritual development from the coal mine and blacksmith's shop to the grammar school at Newcastle Emlyn and the actual outbreak of Revival at his home church of Moriah Lougher.

Many are convinced we urgently need spiritual revival in the world today. God worked through 26-year-old Evan Roberts many years ago. Viewers are finding this program a strong stimulus to seek a new manifestation of God's power in our day and age.

Editorial Reviews

The Welsh Revival of 1903-1906 is chronicled in this generally well-filmed biography of Evan Roberts. A common lad from the coal mining districts, Roberts seemed called by the Holy Spirit out of no-where, to be one of the seminal leaders in an emotion charged revival that led, it believed, to over 100,000 conversions. Libraries in charismatic and Pentecostal studies, and modern church history, will find this a useful addition.

A Diary or Revival begins with a summary of Wales's history. The country had a great spiritual heritage with many well-known preachers but had grown cold spiritually. Then the focus turns to Evan Roberts, a young man whom the Lord used mightily in the revival. In fact, the revival was foremost a movement among young people that, in turn, spread to people of all ages and occupations. The video underscores the power of prayer in revival. At the end the narrator presents a good application for today. He points out that times and circumstances can change but that we can trust God for what He wills to do next in our times.
