Description

On February 3, 1998, Karla Faye Tucker was put to death by the state of Texas, the first woman to be executed in America in fifteen years.

She was a confessed pick-axe murderer. But in prison her life dramatically changed through a religious conversion experience. This former drug-crazed prostitute and savage killer became what many saw as a fully rehabilitated and beautiful, loving person.

In this program you can see and decide for yourself. Meet Karla Faye. And meet others caught up in this emotionally wrenching story. There is Ron, the brother of Deborah Thornton, one of Karla's murder victims. He wanted to kill Karla and avenge his sister's death. But through an incredible succession of circumstances he became a close friend of Karla Faye's, came to forgive and love her and advocated that her death sentence become commuted. You will also meet Deborah Thornton's widowed husband, Richard. He wanted Karla to get what was coming to her in retribution for her heinous acts. See why he could find no place whatsoever for even a shred of mercy toward her.

Notice: This video provides a rare exploration of human nature and experience. Most viewers report needing to view the program at least two or three times to arrive at a fair response. Fullscreen.

- Powerful

Even though this is a few years old, it's message is still pretty powerful and moving. To see how Ron forgave Karla was amazing especially because at first it seems as if his heart is hardened. It was truly sad to see him lose not one but two women who had a huge impact in his life. Personally, it changed my view on Karla Faye Tucker from how the media had portrayed her.

- Power Of Forgiveness The Story Of Karla Faye Tucker

This is an extremely valuable testimony that demonstrates the transforming power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is one the most powerful videos that I've ever seen!

- Power of Forgiveness

This is the story of Karla Faye Tucker. She was someone who killed another person however she was in jail with the death penalty. She learned about God and was OK with being put to death.

- Power for Forgiveness - Story of Karla Faye Tucker

Released in 1999 but it's helpful today in grappling with the senselessness of drugrelated mayhem reported in today's news. Karla Faye Tucker brutally murdered a woman in Texas and spent fourteen years in prison before being executed. During that time God brought healing both to Karla Faye and her victim's brother who was a drug addict himself. The film contrasts the brother's love and forgiveness with his brotherin-law's campaign of hate and retribution. My conclusion is that only forgiveness which is commanded by God can break the cycle of violence while retribution allows it to continue.

- Story of Karla Faye Tucker

Powerful story of forgiveness and powerful example of the word of God does not return void but accomplishes the purpose for which it is sent.

- Our hidden divinity.

I saw it for the first time last week July 9, 2014. Why Hadn't I seen it before all this while?. And it has become one of my all time favorite films. Very powerful and touching the heart. The easiness of heart and portrayal of heartfelt joy in the character portrayed by Karen Jezek as she goes to receive the lethal injection steals the whole show. For me it is not forgiveness but the acceptance and recognition of who we are that is supreme. It is the hidden divinity of our life as endowed by God. I wish the cause of her punishment had not been murder but something else. Well done, Karen Jezek and Ken Jezek for bringing out the true characters portrayed through your roles.
