Editorial Reviews

Here's a truly great video. It consists of interviews with a number of individuals who have received Medals of Honor and who also have testimonies for the Lord, not only concerning His protection and deliverance, but personal salvation through Him. The back cover reads, "The Medal of Honor is the highest award for valor in action against an enemy force which can be bestowed upon anyone serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. The deed for which it is awarded is to be one of personal bravery or self-sacrifice so conspicuous as to clearly distinguish the individual for gallantry above his comrades and must involve risk of life. Valor looks at the heroic acts of several Meal of Honor recipients from World War II, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War."

Valor could be used in a number of ways as a tremendous reminder of and tribute to whose who fought and risked their lives so we can be free.

n military culture, there is no award more respected than the Congressional Medal of Honor, which is often given posthumously. In Valor, three veteran medal recipients—from WWII, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War—talk about how their belief in God gave them inner strength that enabled them to face impossible odds. As one of the men, former Lt. Colonel Leo Thorsness says, "Prior to combat, I was practicing to be a Christian, and in combat I became a practicing Christian." These are not men who wore their religion on their sleeves, but rather carried it in their hearts and felt they were stronger soldiers for having faith. Another of the high quality titles from the FamilyNet series distributed by Vision Video, Valor is an emotional, spiritually uplifting film about ordinary people performing extraordinary feats. Recommended.
