Offering a terrific recounting of the life of Martin Luther (1483-1546), one of the key players in the Reformation, this half-hour program features colored pencil drawings as it traces the young Luther's early school days, his decision to become a priest, and factors that led to his nailing of the famed 95 these to the door of a German church. Narrated by Arden Mead, Martin! God Loves You - which is geared towards children 7-12 - effectively conveys Luther's courage and integrity in defending what he believed to be truth (and the consequences he faced), while also exploring his family life and later years. Divided into short segments to allow for discussion, this program underscores the fact that heroes are often ordinary people who act in extraordinary ways when placed in difficult circumstances. An excellent age-appropriate biography of a landmark figure in religious history, this is highly recommended.
