In 1732, two young Moravians left their comfortable community of Hernhut, Germany, convinced that they were called of God to bring the Gospel to the slaves in the West Indies. They went, willing to become slaves if necessary, to minister to these oppressed people. The Moravians pioneered a mission movement characterized by extraordinary commitment. Under the dynamic leadership of Count Nikolaus von Zinzendorf, the Moravians sent out more missionaries in 20 years than all the other Protestant groups had in 200 years.
In honor of Archbishop Oscar Romero of El Salvador, the Romero Collector's Edition film has been remastered and chronicles the amazing true transformation of an apolitical, complacent priest to a committed leader, who started a revolution without guns, without an army, without fear.
Steve Saint recalls life in the jungles of Ecuador and the events surrounding the death of his father, Nate Saint, and four other missionaries in 1956.
One of the most gripping missionary sagas of our time. Five missionaries went into the land of the savage Aucas. Their offer of friendship was rejected, and the Aucas killed the missionaries. Elisabeth Elliot, wife of one of the martyrs, her daughter and Rachel Saint would not give up and eventually lived among and brought the Gospel to the Aucas. Through Gates of Splendor is an effective demonstration of God’s grace at work during an unforgettable moment in modern missions history.
